Eggshells Thwart Slugs

There are many ways to control slugs in the garden but eggshells are one of the best.

Beer attracts slugs so they fall in an drown. Diatomaceous earth is a common remedy because it's sharp edges cut the slugs and make them turn away from the plants. Eggshells do the same thing but are actually more beneficial to the garden because the shells add calcium to the soil.

Eggshells for tomato plants would be especially beneficial if your tomatoes have blossom end rot. This disfigurement is caused my low calcium in the soil.

There are more excellent organic methods to control slugs.
